Saturday
Very good wind today. In the morning I was on my 6.5 and overpowered so I went to my 5.7 and was still overpowered. We had some rain storms in the morning then it cleared off by afternoon.
There are firecrackers being shot off like cannons every night, leading up to the big night on New Year’s Eve.

Thursday and Friday
Thursday and Friday Jim sailed in the afternoons. He would have been on a 5.0 in the morning but needed to recover. In the afternoon he was on a 5.7 both days, planing 95% of the time. Today Jim sailed with Kiri Thode for a while. Good days! No new photos.
Kathy went on a nature-bird watching tour this morning and learned much more about the local flora and fauna.
Good wind Wednesday

We had good wind today. Jim didn’t sail until the afternoon because he went on a mountain bike ride in the morning. Then he was on his 5.7 and powered up.
Christmas in Bonaire (Santa does sail!)
Here are some photos from Dec. 25th in Bonaire. Not really good sailing but it was a nice day. This morning it was 6.5 for a couple of hours.

Scene on beach at Jibe City – Cindy works there and was cheerful even though working on Christmas Day.

Santa was sailing on his way home!

Christmas Eve in Bonaire
We arrived safely. The worst part of the trip was driving to Salt Lake City. The city is so big it doesn’t do a very good job of immediate snowplowing. We made our connection in Houston and arrived in Kralendijk Saturday morning. Jim sailed Saturday on his 6.5 sail, 90% planing. He sailed yesterday on the 6.5, planing 70%. We took some pictures yesterday of the kiting at kite beach but found out the new memory card I had bought is bad. So we lost the pictures, we’ll have to take more. It’s not too windy today so we didn’t go out to Jibe City.
Bound for Bonaire
We’re starting our trip December 20, 2008 from Salt Lake City.
